Hello everyone..just some pics of my latest additions toward my assembly of the entire New York Series from 1914 thru 2004. Just 3 of many many notes I need. :goofer: Thanks for taking a peek! RickieB
RickieB,those are nice replacement notes, but where is the reference to New York on the $5 note? Aidan.
Hello Aidan..thanks! The reference on the newer note is no longer like the one on the $20 Under the serial# you will see B2..New York is District B the second of 12 districts. This $5 note was sheet fed at the Ft.Worth Tx facility and being a replacement on top of that commands a 25% premium. I have added some older notes lately and was looking for these replacement notes... Here is the "C" note I added last week... Many many more to go. Have you ever checked the # of notes there are for just one district from a date point? WOW it is substanial to say the least. RickieB
Hello Bruce... You got it...I have been so immersed in coins that a few months ago I was at the Boston Coin show and was looking for a 1914 $20 Blue Seal. The reverse has the transportation theme on it and my little boy loves trains! Once I found that note it set a new fire in me. It was a New York note and I decided at that point to put together a complete set of NY notes from 1914 to 2004 all denominations "up to the $1000 note" and stars. Well investigating this I have learned quite a bit abount currency..very intersting to say the least! Still into coins, but what a change to study something new. Here is the $20 1914...the fingerprints are on the plastic holder as is some of the flash from the camera...LOL Take care and Semper Fi... RickieB
A couple more New York Notes I added this week Well, might as well post the rest of them...thanks for stoping by..these are slabbed PCGS Choice Gem 66 RickieB :smile
RickieB... you do know how much it's going to cost you to complete this? That's quite a lot of money... since new york probably released the $5000 notes etc...
Oh yea ..it is a dream...and fun to think about. When I get to the 1000 and above I do not expect much. Thanks for the reminder...maybe I should have said "all denominations up to the 1000 note" RickieB
NY printed a 10K note. Here is a pic of one in Gem 63 condition. It sells for 85 to 90 K each!! I'll take 2 please.. And if anyone would like to donate to the cause I will accept..LOL in my wildest dreams!! RickieB
a thought maybe... and it might be frowned upon... who knows... but i'm collecting every series up to and including $20 notes from 1928 - pres. one includes the 1933 silver cert $10 which is extremely rare... yeah... well i plan on just buying a replica note for that spot... at least until i hit the lottery
And I thought I had a long way to go ....that is one boat load of notes my friend. How far along are you? Post some pics to share. What is the avg grade? Any special dealers you work with? RickieB
i tried my hardest to gather all the notes through circulation. Most pre 1950 I had to deal with ebay... but i managed to get my 1934 $20 bill from circulation. How far along am I? well i gave up trying to get all the SERIES pre 1963. After 1963, i have all the series... pre 63 I have one note from each year... not dependent on the series. I'm also trying to replace any of my notes with star notes. I've got a few notes pre 1990 that are star notes... some 1960's. But my collection draws to a near... all that are left are bank notes and a $10 gold cert and a few 1928's and 34's
3 more NY Notes Hey Guy's ..how's it going? Just wanted to post 3 more NY notes I just picked up. Two of them are $1 notes, one star and one repeating SN#. The third a nice $5 from 1950. All from CGA and the 2 - $1 notes are Gem 66 and the $5 is a Gem 65. Thanks for taking a peek...the collection is starting to grow with common NY notes.. RickieB
2 More Notes to The NY Collection Hey guys..just wanted to post a couple more fresh notes to the New York Collection... Here we grow!! RickieB Thanks for taking a peek
