1928 $20 Gold Certificate from the local coin shop. I paid a bit of a premium for it over eBay but I like examining notes of this grade in person. Not perfect, but certainly a nice addition to my collection.
I feel the same about coins - I would rather over pay at the coin store where I get to see the coins in hand versus ebay. Nice bill!
very nice note. :thumb: i buy a lot from ebay but usually the same sellers so i know there items are as they state. i have gotten some amazing deals also. i need to get me a gold certificate. still dont have on yet
Looks very nice. What do you grade it at and is it a pic or scan? (to help me learn to grade by pics/scans)
Hi Noost. Pictured above are scans, which unfortunately pick up on more flaws than I care to admit. I've never been much for grading, but I'd grade this EF-45, I'd be curious to others take on it. The note has two slight vertical folds (as though it were in a tri-fold wallet), all four corners are rounded, and the back has lost some color. Plenty of other flaws, but those seem to be the most damaging. http://www.pcgscurrency.com/g_scale.html
I'd pay a small premium over getting something in a coin shop, vs. ebay, just seeing the coin, and not having to worry about shipping... Now to the note... WOW! That is one nice piece of paper, a good addition to anyone's collection
Both gold notes are cool but if you really are interested in selling you odler note, i would suggest the opne forum here... no fees... and trust me... there are several of us open to helping liberate it from your doubles stack lol Noost... stick to $2's
As much as I hate hoarding all the gold certificates, my grandfather gave it to me. So for now, I have no intentions of parting with it. Sorry.
No appologies needed notes given to us through loved ones are usually the notes valued much more then more expensive notes! Certainly a note to treasure :thumb:
