The obverse is a normal, but the reverse looks 'blurry' even though it has all the details and not much PMD. Is this a late stage die cap? I've not found one before. 2010 D Late Die Cap (2).JPG 2010 D Late Die Cap.JPG 2010 D Die Cap (2).jpg 2010 D Die Cap.jpg

I believe Late Stage Die Cap can only occur on the Obverse side.

Okay. Didn't know that. So....any idea what this is? Die Deterioration?

@paddyman98 Not to be argumentative, :) After researching this a little further on how these occur and what they look like, I was on
    http://www.error-ref.com/struck_through_a_late_stage_die_cap/
it states that "Most such errors involve die caps affixed to the hammer die, so we’ll focus on those." A reverse or Anvil late stage die cap could happen, but it's just unlikely. I just wanted others to know that it's not just "can only occur on the Obverse side". I've never personally seen one, so I'll take the experts opinions.
    Thanks!

    Rev. die was overused/worn.

Not close to a 'struck thru' thinning
    late stage Die Cap.

Late stage capped dies are most always on the hammer die. But depending on the series and the year the hammer die could be the obv or the rev die. Just whichever one they are using for the hammer die that year.
