Last 39 for the $20 LC set.. petite head

    not bad for a $20 not fantastic but I'm happy for the price and one more hole filled :D

    Curious wear pattern with UNITED STATES OF AMERICA mostly gone. And yet it manages to look pretty wholesome for a $20 large cent. You go, Weaselbritches!

    That is some very unusual wear especially since the rims are intact. On the obverse, the stars CW from K9 to K3 are very weak to almost non-existent, again with rim mostly intact. Both sides are off-centered a bit. For the obverse die, I wonder if the die was angularly misaligned so that the top of the coin was not struck up. Interestingly, if you note both obverse and reverse off-centeredness, it looks like the coin might be medal-aligned. If the workers were sloppy enough to allow a medal alignment, maybe they were also sloppy in their die alignment.
