OK, I'm trying to decide if the date on this 1803 Large Cent Draped Bust is large or small.

Here is the pic of the coin's date large or small date 1803.jpg

and here is the comparison from the 2011 Red Book large and small date 1803.jpg

If you'll notice the 3, it goes up over the bottom line of the bust, like the 3 in the picture in the book, however, the one appears neither pointed or blunt but something in between.

I know the pictures may not be crystal clear, but just your best guesstimate will do, thanks. Or if you happen to have one of these that you KNOW is the large date and can post a pic, that'd be great too, thanks :)

Just going from your picture and the information you provided, to me it looks like a small date

Yeah, it kinda does to me too, but the 3's are what's throwing me off, so I figured I'd ask you guys that know wayyy more than I do about these things, thanks :)

Based off the pictures just look at the 1 - small date is blunt like yours. Now I do not have my books with me, but post the whole coin and maybe we can attribute it.

    Leadfoot there is no spoon

A full shot of the obverse and reverse would confirm the variety (and thus date size/type), but it appears to be a small date.
