Large Coin acceptence also trouble in England

    This has absolutely nothing to do with the size of the coin as much as it had to do with a bunch of Jerk Clerks who should have been disciplined on the spot along with the 15 lb voucher!

    The 2 pound coin is not a whole lot larger than the two pence coin!

    Both are widely accepted and used on a regular basis.

    Poor practice for the store, but I doubt its illegal. In the US stores can dictate whatever form of money they wish to accept. If Walmart refused to accept any payment except $2 bills that is their right. It would be stupid, but they could do it.

    While this may be true, the clerks were clearly in the wrong in this instance as validated by the manager and the ASDA Spokesperson.

    True, the clerks may be in violation of store policy. I was just clarifying stores do have this right, its just stupid. I am sure the manager and corporate understand how dumb a decision this was, not even counting the bad press from this.
