This is a nice coin going for only $15.50 as I type. It is an unattributed S-146 R5. A key for identification of Reverse C is the imbedded berry in the leaf under E(D). It appears to be State II, but the scratch from the left stem to U is not there, perhaps someone thought it was distracting and smoothed it or perhaps it was one of the first coined after the initial regrinding or polishing. No shoulder loop on the obverse is consistent with State II. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1798-DRAPED-BUST-LARGE-CENT-/230857457094?pt=Coins_US_Individual&hash=item35c02d3dc6
I put it on my watch list. I am sure in that shape the price will jump the closer it gets to closing.
Looks like a couple of pre snipe bidders have recognized this. A R5 with a 200 year old fingerprint to boot...
It went beyond what I was prepared to pay. All in all seems a fair price and comparable to the examples listed by heritage.
