This one is not a coin but an auction. The September Long Beach Auction includes numerous rare offers including many NCs, a S-48 Starred Reverse, a Jefferson Head 1795 and MS grade S-76b. Some major collector is disposing of his rarities without the usual fanfare. At this point, few are graded or attributed, but every new raw coin I've seen is special in it's own right. It's on Heritage, but the preview items are not yet filed as current offerings under their narrow category so you have to broaden your parameters to all Large Cents and scroll through just under 300 items. After yesterday's tip, I've decided it is impractical to list all of them separately.
I window shop the large cents all the time on Heritage. I am tracking several I know I won't bid on, but like. For example I just love the way the 1813 AU55 looks. I don't think any of the chain cents will say in my bidding range, but I love looking at them.
