This is a good one. An unattributed 1796 S-117 R5+(30-42 Known). It appears to be Die State I or II since there is no evidence of the die crack right of D. But the Die chip above E(R) is present to make the attribution rock solid. Some PMD, but overall a nice low grade example with a strong date and reverse. The weakness at UNITED is due to axial misalignment, not wear. It's at $45 as I post this. If I hadn't exhausted my budget on the NC-5, this would be a keeper. Have fun. http://www.ebay.com/itm/281091844562?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649 ps A look at the Holmes example should give you a good idea of the difficulty finding a nice example. http://www.icollector.com/1796-S-117-R5-Draped-Bust-VG8_i8599222
I agree with the attribution and I can give you something a lot more solid than the die chip. Right branch ends in double leaf and the gap between the wreath ends is below the center of the E. That can only be S-117 or NC-6. (Same rev die). To tell those two apart, the highest wave of the hair on S-117 is below the center of the R. On NC-6 it is left of the upright of the R.
