Large Cent Help

I need some help with Large Cents. My father has taken up collecting these and I wanted to get him a book for christmas this year. What are some good books that talk about Large Cents?

What years is he collecting? I just bought the Breen encyclopedia and am pretty happy with it. Middle dates I would go with the Wright book, and for late dates the Grellman book.

Each of those books will run around $100, so if that is a bit steep for a gift you could always do some auction catalogs. I have quite a few and love looking through them. The Dan Holmes ones are fantastic and only run around $15 each.

 

You can get him an Early American Coppers membership and by doing that he will receive the clubs journal "Penny Wise".
