Large Cent Grade, and Value

    I found this large cent metal detecting today, and I'm wondering what details grade it would be, it would also be cool to know how much it is worth. I'm not planing on selling it, but this info would be cool to know.

    Just at a glance, it looks like XF details to me. I'd be interested to see what it looks like cleaned up before you could get a legitimate price quote, but depending on the variety (which I'm too lazy to do since I'm watching football) and what it looks like with the dirt and grime off of it, I could easily see somebody offering $100 or thereabouts. Great find, I'm jealous!

    It looks to be the small date, small fraction variety.

    That's a shame that it sat in the ground so long, it looks like it was AU before getting there. Great find.

    Awesome find! You've successfully unearthed a nice coin.
    While it's got that characteristic corrosion of a dug coin, It's better to have it out of the ground, than in.
