Can anyone make an attribution to this 1797 large cent?

I like attributing so post till your hearts content. Now I also like to eat so I may be delayed by the pizza.

Well you asked for it. Also, is this a details grade AG3 ish?

I would probably consider it Details 4 Net 3 since the legends are complete and the rim is intact except where one can expect loss of detail due to Die bulging on the reverse.

I am no expert. I collect large cents and would be tempted to call this a G4.

Should be an interesting thread to follow...I'm sort of getting into these large cents along with a few half cents...

I'm afraid this one had me stumped. The obverse looks like the N-6 (obverse 5) with the distinctive straight line from the tip of the crown to the tip of the nose and without the offset. The reverse (E); however, should have a broken left serif at (N)T and the T should be lower than the N. Neither of which I see. However; on second thought, it does have repaired base of E in UNITED and AMERICA so perhaps it is just my tired old eyes playing tricks on me.

Guess I'll go with N-6 after all.

Here is a thread I started on Half Cent Attribution. There are a lot of threads running on Cointalk about large cents. Also, thanks for the help. I will try and put some more up tomorrow.http://www.cointalk.com/t191368/

IF the 1837 is an N6, is it R2? Also is it VF with corrosion? What can I do to conserve it?

    EAC grade, yeah.

PCGS/NGC AU, probably 58 at NGC and 53/55 at PCGS.

Can NCS do something to the corrosion/green? There is no pitting. Just on the surface.
