Large Cent - 1851 or 1851/81?

    The Redbook photo for the 51/81 overdate isn't particularly informative. Anyone familiar with these? Know how to spot an overdate vs. otherwise?

    IMO, no over date. A photo of the reverse, would be needed for someone to attribute.

    I would have to say no over date as well though it is a very nice 51 going by the side I can see :D

    I would agree with the above opinions I think it is just a normal 1851 large cent but as stated it l9oks like a real nice example !!
