I'm looking for reference books on later large cents and all small cents and would like some opinions about your favorites from you who know more than I. Looking for some good books with pics and varieties so on and so forth. Thank you Andy
Oh and maybe some reccomendations on albums such as dansco, littleton, harris. Your favorites? Thanks for your advice in advance:bow:
Hmmm - I like both "United States Copper Cents" by newcomb and "The die Varieties of United States Large Cents" by John Grellman. The newcomb book covers middle to late date large cents and is easier to use in some respects. The grellman book I use as back up and it covers 1840 to 1857. Some like it better - I use both when attributing the Braided Hair large cents. As for holders I use airtites - but I do have a Dansco album on order. I think I have enough large cents to get the book almost complete - missing a few common date coins and a few key dates. I plan on listing the variety in the book. The rest will stay in airtites in a 2x2 holder with the variety listed. One of the things I need to do is get better organized.
