I'm being a good newbie and saying what I think this is...i.e. Lamination crack and retained lamination. The crack starts below the R in TRUST, goes across L's nose, and the piece is stuck just off his chin. I don't think the blob in the 9 has anything to do with it... 20210104_052712.jpg 20210104_052748.jpg 20210104_092303.jpg 20210104_092316.jpg

Nice Find ;) !! The "blob" I believe is a die chip. JMO

Agree. Lamination with a die chip (Internal Die Break) in the 9

Just a lamination crack. Nothing retained.
Die Chip on the 9 as the others have stated.

The Lamination would be a planchet issue.
    Minor error.

The Die Chip is a worn Die issue. Also minor.

    Thanks for sharing.

Pretty cool, two different types of errors on one coin.

But but but..... that leaf of bronze tacked on next to his chin--- that is not "retained"? it's actually most visible in the first photo.

Nice lamination crack and a die chip on the 9 to boot. This is just a crack so nothing retained.

Bit late to the party as I am in bed here in Spain when most of you start posting in the US. Just want to say CONGRATULATIONS. Love the way you took constructive criticism on board from your early posts and are learning. Nobody should be scared to say what they think about their coin(s) when they ask a genuine question, shows you are actually trying to research a bit before posting, much better than the "What is this" and "How much is this error worth" posts that are common here from others

    The reverse laminations are minor.
