    [h=1][/h]Hello :)

    I found these on a flea market and the seller told me that he thinks they're from Pakistan/Afghanistan. I did some searching on Google before I came here and identified one of them as possibly "Kushan" while the other looks Greek to me.

    But I could be totally wrong. I'm hoping that someone here might have an answer as to where they're from!

    Best guess is the coin on the left is trying to me a Indo-Greek, and on the right it looks like a Kushan. Both make me nervous, not the least that gold like this would show up at a flea market.

    Thank you for your reply! I have no idea if they're gold or not. I have no way of checking the exact weight in gr. or oz. (at least not today). I'd need to find a scale that can weigh them.

    I only paid $2 for each of them so I guess if they're fake it doesn't matter. Unfortunately the seller didn't know anything else about them. These were the only coins he had and he wasn't a coin expert either.

    I know for a fact the Kushan type was only struck in gold. For bronze coins they had different designs, so I believe this is proving its a fake gold coin. I believe the indo-greek, (or Bactrian if you prefer), is also a gold only design, so it has the same story.

    The Indo-greek coin would be from around 100bc, and the Kushan around 250-300 ad.

    Both are fake, unfortunately. At least you're only out $4!

    Ardatirion is more direct than I. :) Plus, he knows them better than I do, being more of a bronze man in these cultures.

    Btw, does it look like that Bactrian is trying to copy Menander? I faintly recognize the portrait, but it looks like a cartoon version of it.
