Steve,it shouldn't be saying that, even though the Citizendium is currently in its pilot stage. They have a Real Names Policy over there as well.

You can follow the instructions for signing up here; http://pilot.citizendium.org/wiki/Main_Page .

I keep getting redirected to the home page. Can't see any articles on the site. Seems they have some issues to work out.

Peter, that is most odd. They are supposed to be publicly launching soon.I had even mentioned about the silver Krugerrand in the article as well.

It asks you to log in then redirects you to the main page.

The fact that you hardly see anything has quite a lot to do with that thing not being public at present. :D Only registered users can get in. But you can have a look at the Citizendium blog for example http://blog.citizendium.org/

The concept is quite interesting: Very similar to Wikipedia, but different in a few important regards. Basically any user can contribute - however, there are editors who check the contributions. Whether the project will fly, well, we will see.

If you want people here to read your article, why don't you post the article here?

A lot of people don't like going to web sites which require one to "log in" or give personal information.

    :)

Willieboyd2,I thought I had posted it,as I am logged in.I didn't know that it was going to redirect back to the Main Page.

Aidan I think what Willieboyd2 is saying is why don't you just copy and paste it here? If you authored it you own the copyright. Or isn't that how things work down under. :)

Eddiespin,I wouldn't know how to cut & paste it,as I am trying to teach myself about computers.

If you want to write numismatic articles for Citizendium, then you have to register first. That's how I was able to get on there.

I found out why you keep on getting redirected back to the home page. They have been having trouble with a few people signing up for the purpose of vandalising articles, just like on Wikipedia,so they have tightened up on their security as a result.

To cut and past, go to where you have the article saved on your Computer....maybe in a Word Doc. and click on the article....then click Ctrl and the "A" at the same time....the letters will be coved then with blue.....click Ctrl and the "C" key at the same time---come to CT and bring up a new post---click where you want to type the article and click Ctrl and the "V" letter at the same time....

What do you mean? I don't think the Citizendium is a waste of time.It will be opening up to public access some time in the next couple of months. As to an exact date,I wouldn't know.

that is wikipedia exactly...I noticed they didnt have an article on Conder Token so I registered and wrote one on the Tokens and James Conder the first day I was registered (used one of my own tokens to illustrate it)...an editor told me to fix a few things and labeled it a stub, I did..now it stands :) I plan on going back and adding to it.

Drusus, that is a very good article you've written there. The Citizendium is intended to be an improvement on Wikipedia.

I had to edit the Krugerrand entry for wikipedia as they listed Paul Kruger as the first president of the South African Republic (Transvaal) when he was in reality the 5th president and the last. The First President was, if I am not mistaken, Marthinus Wessel Pretorius, the man who lends his name to one of the capitols of South Africa, the city of Pretoria. I also uploaded my coin for the Krugerrand article as well as the Paul Kruger article. The previous one was bright yellow and not a very realistic depiction of the coin and didnt have much depth.
