Krause calls me a Male Turkey!

    Oh the Shame! The Shame!

A Capercaillie is a big European bird, sometimes 7kg or 14lbs.

    I am not a Turkey!
    I am a Free Bird!

Krause screws up a lot of things in their so-called "descriptions":

Their books says that the South Korean 50Won coin has an "oat sprig" on the obverse.

    Typical Krause mistake.

The problem is that the Bank of Korea has always clearly described it as "RICE" in ANY description they have published in their mintsets or public information brochures, so what's Krause's excuse?

(As Napolean Dynamite might say) Koreans eat RICE, not OATS! GOSH!

Krause has now corrected that online (Numismaster), so I guess it will also be fixed in the next printed catalog.

My edition of Krause has the Finnish coin's bird as a capercaille.

    Finnish Turkey?

The Schön says that the 10 markkaa coin depicts an Auerhuhn (German), or Tetrao urogallus (Latin) from the Phasianidae family. Well, the primary difference between the piece from Andorra and the coin from Finland, in my opinion, is that the former is not actually money. ;)
