Know anything about these strange nickles?

    The D on the 1975 nickel is in an unusual position. The D on the 1984 looks doubled, but I'm worried it might just be post mint damage.

    Wow, whoever punched the D into that 1975 die must have started happy hour really early that day.

    Don't know what's happening on the 1984, but I had to stare closely at it to decide it wasn't trying to be an S.

    I think the 1984 has post mint damage.
    The 1975 is a missed placed mintmark. A somewhat common occurrence.
    The die that made your coin also made many more.

    I saw an article somewhere. Someone is offering$1000 reward for that high mint mark. Research that. Good luck

    I thought I had seen something about that too, but I just decided to come here. I came here before doing research because I'd rather not get my hopes high only for someone to say "oh, that's nothing". I'll look into it a little more now!
