Did the Khazar Kingdom produce any coins or did they use primarily Byzantine coins?

Khazar khanate was the independent state since 650 until 959. It was situated on the territory of Russia and some other states (such as Georgia, Azerbaijan, Armenia and other). Khazar khanate has no own coins. They used an Arabic coins.

Idk about that. There was a thin paperback book put out identifying some Khazar coins. They appear arabic, but supposedly had some identifying marks.

OP, i would search for a copy of this book if you are really interested in the subject. Its in English. Its an intersting culture, of course, being surrounded by christian and islamic neighbors, so choosing to mass convert to judaism.

I am not at home so i am sorry cannot give you the titles name, author, etc. Hopefully a google search will find you the title.
