Well, first, what defines a Key Date? Second, can you guys give me a list (or a link to one) of Key Dates for pennies (wheat and memorial). thanks
Key date = harder to find. Usually associated with lower mintages, but not always. A great online reference on American coinage is www.coinfacts.com
Main key dates for cents are all found in wheats: 1909-S, 1909-S VDB, 1914-D, 1931-S, and 1922 Plain (if you decide to collect it. It's more known as a variety/error). There aren't really any key date Memorials, unless again you are looking for varieties. If you are, then the 1960-P Small Date and the 1970-S Small Date are the two variety keys to the series. Semi-keys include the 1910-S, 1911-S, 1912-S, 1913-S, 1914-S, 1915-S, and 1924-D. Boy do I love cents! If you have any further questions, pm me and I'll be happy to help, and DEFINITELY check out coinfacts.com, because it's a great resource! ~AJ
