I'm puzzled! Browsing thru the new red book, I noticer the 86 P-D is higher than the 87. Production is 5 fold, What do I not understand here? I know there are some kennedy pros here. Why?

thats because the 86 kennedies were realeased for circulation, while the 87 kennedies were not.

86's tend to be badly struck, with low rims and they have been beaten by circulation. They are DIFFICULT to find in great condition. On the other hand, 87's (while comparativly much less common) are plentiful in higher grades because they were only released to collectors and not circulated.
