    Good Afternoon,

I post this in Chit chat since it involved CRH, Error, and a seek for thoughts...

This past week I, just by chance, asked a Teller about having any halves. Low and behold she did! I bought all they had, then got excited and went to two more banks and bought all they had too! Ended up with $1,400 to look at.

Well, after 2,800 coins- not one single 90%, narry a 40%, and nada any of three or four dates with known DD and other errors (that I know of anyway)...

However- I did pull 1 single interesting coin. It is a 1999D with significant Lamination issues.

Any thought on what value might be, or if it's slab worthy, etc...
    Thanks.

It wouldn't be worth grading, and it would only be worth a premium to the right person.

Looks like corrosive chemical damage to me.

Exactly my thoughts. Lams dont generally happen in circles.

    Didn't think about chemical damage.

I wish I could zoom in more on the spots. They have sharp edges through the clad and generally an even depth except where the exposed copper corroded (green). I would expect chemical damage or any other damage After minting would have affected/eat away the lettering, reliefed portions of the images?

    Thanks for the input.
    Peace

No need to zoom, looks like battery acid was dripped onto the surface to eat away the outer layer.
