There doesn’t seem to be many Kennedy Half Dollar variety collectors in this forum, at least there aren’t many posts. I thought I would share some of my recent finds. I just went through a group of 68S proofs and found these, 68S IMM-001, 68S DDO-002 and 68S DDR-001. I would be interested in seeing what other Kennedy die varieties people are finding. Those are really good hpotographs. Proofs can be difficult because of the relfective glare and the bottom two photos look like the coin may be a cameo as well, which makes it harder to see the serperation. Really nice photography. I too like the inverted mint mark.
I'm a kennedy collector, but I have more older dates. I have some errors like the 1982 no FG which was taken out by die polish that;s a pretty pouplar one. I do have a 1966 double die with profile doubling don't no which variety through there;s different varities .I have one or to RPMs , about two rolls of 1964, a roll of 1971 and alot of cameos, and ultra cameos. \ I like the kennedy design especially his portrait on the obverse . the kennedy series is a pretty good series for young collectors resonable prices a long series through ,and it;s still going. I just don't know why there not really that popular with collectors. I think it;s a sleeper series which may catch on with some new blood in the field . The future will only tell.By the way a wonderful double die. Jazzcoins Joe
Joe...maybe I can help identify which 66 die you have. There are alot of markers for the 66 series and most are pretty easy to attribute. Check out the CONECA listings and see if you can figure out which one you have. Which RPM's do you have? http://www.conecaonline.org/content/kennedydoubleddies19651970.html#_1966_5 Larry Nienaber
I have been there serveral time that;s were I go for the double die listings and RPMs i can't find the variety maybe it's a new variety . I have a 1969D rpm looks tripled. I don't remember what the other one is I will look for it, and get back to you on it . I'm glad i found somebody that;s interested in the Kennedys, and he was a great president to boot.
