You were asking if this half dollar was a DDR. The only doubling I see is the very light doubling on the edge of a leaf. The extra leaves you are talking about would not make this a DDR, they are just die chips. Larry Nienaber
I asked for the word STATES because on a Kennedy, the upstrokes of the Esses generally indicate a doubled die. If you learn anything, at least learn that when looking at Kennedy DDR's.
In my limited experience most die chips are on devices or at least clearly related to them and not just out in the field. Those leaves terminate in the field and are separated from the others by field, albeit small amount. And, they do a nice job of mimicking the normal leaf. It seems unlikely that a chip in the die wouldn't involve those nearby devices, where as a dent in the die (doubling) is easily understood to do just that.
