    Hi guys,

what's your opinion on this Kennedy half?
Is there a possibility to get a gem Grade?
    Thanks...........

MS as you would expect a 70-D to be.
But too many bag marks on the obverse to be Gem.
IMO at best it's MS-63 (but -64 wouldn't surprise me too much).

Too many bag marks to get Gem 65.

Typical for the date. Lower MS

Yes. Quite a few mint set coins have “bag” marks. They are not all perfect.

I guess it hasn't been a wasted day then.

Not a gem. Probably low MS grade.

Nearly all 70 mint sets are marked. After strike they fell into bins...many rim hits.

Don't confuse Mint Sets, with Proof Sets. As chascat said, the coins that make up a mint set feed into a bin that allows the coins to be hit by other coins.

It looks like a beautiful coin as made. It's a fairly good strike by good dies.

But the services (and most collectors) are put off by the amount of marking.

This is a tough date to find nice.

And then probably bagged, and shipped to San Francisco where the mint sets were assembled.

Morgandude11 As long as it's Silver, I'm listening

I would guess it is a 63. Not a gem.
