I am sorry I do not have a pic yet I hope to in a few days. But a friend has what he says is a clad Kennedy set with a $50.00 stamp that is enclosed with it. He wants $55.00 for the set but I am not sure if the stamp is legal tender for that amount or if its just Memorabilia . Has anyone seen such a beast?
    THANKS JON

So offer him $15.00 and tell him friends never lie? :)

For me it's not worth it. The coins are clads, and unless you are a Kennedy collector, those stamps mean nothing to me.

If it is what Topcat posted I would definitely not pay $55.00. This is a common date Kennedy and FDC's ( First day Covers) and PNC's ( Philatelic/Numismatic Covers ) have always been a losing proposition. FDC's are a dime a piece in bulk and PNC's show little if any appreciation, more often than not, depreciation. As a former stamp collector, I know of what I speak and is the main reason I gave up stamps in the 80's.

Hope I did not sound tert in my reply. It's just that I hate to see new collectors get burned in this particular area. I started stamp collecting in 1966 and the only sound investments in my collection are better 1800's-early 1900's U.S. stamps plus a very nice Canada collection of mostly early stamps. The rest is going to be a horror story trying to get rid of. U.S. stamps from the 30's on are always being sold in bulk lots, mint, at 30% off face value to use as postage today.

No not at all. I am glad I did not take the plunge without asking you good folks first! As far as stamps go could I pm you a few pics of things I have that I know nothing about? If they are anything at all or just face value Junk? LOL This friend bought a collection from a young lady her father had died and he bought the entire coin collection. Well after he got it he found that a lot of the coins were Fake reproductions. Worthless like the stamp and Kennedy's. He said he helped a young lady with kids that needed money and the couple hundred he spent on $30.00 worth of coins did not matter. I said YOU JUST KEEP REMEMBERING THAT!!!

By all means, you can P.M. me. I don't know it all but maybe I can help on the stamps. The coins you can post in the proper threads to get a better opinion of everyone here as we sometimes have varying takes on what is posted. Better to have multiple takes on the coins. But you can also post the stamps in the proper thread if you want. There are other stamp collectors here.

I might pay $10, but the seller would not take that, and you would never even get your "investment" back even at that price.
