I asked a few weeks ago if anyone was seeing the new Westward Journey nickels in circulation. Pretty much the answer was no...I know I still haven't found a single one in pocket change yet. Well, the new Keelboat design is out and I was wondering if anyone has one of those in their grubby little hands yet. I ordered my bag and rolls yesterday and see that they've been shipped, so I should have mine by the first of next week. I'm still amazed at how slow these are in getting into circulation compared to the state quarters....
Well they just had the opening cermony in Nebraska, so you will probably start seeing them soon. I have the ones in my 2004 mint sets so far.
I just received the shipping conformation email from the mint on my Keelboat nickel rolls. It's dated 8/6/04. I just ordered them on Thursday 8/5/04. Does it seem like the US Mint is really working hard to get all of our orders shipped. In the past, it has taken weeks to get the confirmation email, but things sure seem to have changed. If you have to return a defective set of coins, does anyone know how the mint's turn around these days. Thanks - Jim
