I am almost done with SQ...there are sooooo many I don't even want to fool with them...I saw that there were over 720 million OR quarters minted...that is nuts. that being said...Good Luck Speedy
This is the first time I bought rolls of quarters (other than from the bank). I don't consider them much of an investment, but I like this design the best of any state design so far (as implemented) and I plan to do my coin-in-an-Air-Tite thing with family and friends.
I have a subscription at the mint for two P & D rolls for each state. I wonder why they can process, fill and ship the state quarters within two days of their release? My Kansas Quarters were shipped on 8/31/05. What are they doing with all the backordered stuff sitting around in their way? Their must be palets stacked on palets that employees have to walk around every day. It must surely be a madhouse at the mints. I seems to me that it would be much easier to get the backorders out first then process the quarters. Will there be backorders like one of mine from 5/26/05 sitting around when the West Virginia Quarters are released in November? Is this truly all the better service we can expect from our government? I really feel bad for the folks in New Orleans, Biloxi and Mobile, sitting around waiting on Uncle Sam to get food and water to them. Has anyone toured the mint recently? Is there a lot of stuff sitting around on the floors waiting to be shipped? Jim
Yah know, I see IBM, Fed Ex and UPS commercials claiming to fix these kind of issues all the time. Hmmmm.....I wonder......
Mint orders I was just thinking, this must be what those TV coin show people (Coin Vault, America's Store), talk about all the time when they are referring to the fact that some people must wait 2-3 months for their coins. They must be talking about the 'US Mint'. What makes me mad is these TV folks seem to have their completed orders from the mint, but it is us little guys waiting all those months. I think of the coin shows as I would a carpetbagger in Gone With The Wind. Jim
