Have I missed something? The Justice Marshall commemorative is due out in 2 or 3 months and I have not seen even a sketch of the design. Has the release for this coin been delayed? Or is the Mint having a tough time coming up with a satisfactory design. Usually, commemorative designs are known well in advance. Have seen nothing regarding the USMC commemorative either.
At the risk of a new user speaking my mind to a moderator, I have to say that I don't appreciate someone being critical of what someone else collects just because it doesn't interest them. I'm sure we all have something in our collections that make others yawn or make others say "I don't like that" or "I think that's dumb", but who are we to judge what's worth collecting by someone else. All this smug attitude accomplishes is to deter opinions from others. Will that help the hobby or does it not matter to you? Does someone looking down their nose at someone else's collection encourage us to get involved or will it make you feel better about what you have?
Thank you tanner520! I could not have said it any better myself. I, for one, enjoy the diversity of this forum and hope to learn much more from time spent here.
Not at all. Opinions are most welcome. Personal attacks are not. Please feel free to express your opinions anytime. I do.
You'll get used to Roy - he just has an odd sense of humor at times. I know that he never meant to offend anyone. He's just.....special
Here is a link to a report by the Supreme Court Historical Society President. There are email addresses at the bottom of the page for the Ad Hoc committee members. You may be able to find what you need from one of them. Hope this helps. http://www.supremecourthistory.org/01_society/subs/01_c.html
I couldn't find a picture either but found this: http://www.cfa.gov/meetings/archive/2004/sep/20040921_05.html And the obverse might be based on this Saint-Memin portrait. http://www.jmu.edu/madison/center/main_pages/madison_archives/era/judicial/justice.htm
