A day or two? More like a drink or two... or three... ;-)

That's a beauty. That's one of those coins on my top 10 list. 3 cent error, half dime error, ext. Your coin has it all heavy clashing, rpd, off center. Drool!!!!!

The part that has me most excited is that this coin may be the only FS-301 off-center 3-cent nickel ever minted. :jawdrop:
There are no RPD off-centers on eBay or in Heritage archives!

By more than 5 grades. All of the lines are sharp in III.

Nice pick up John, very cool error/variety all wrapped up in one.

I would crack that out and send to NGC or maybe PCGS.
I've had errors that ANACS graded 58, sent to NGC and got 64.
Which was more like what the coin should have been in the first place.

Since I need the FS number added to the holder, I plan on resubmitting it. A 58 or better would be nice, as far as grade, but like I said, the big draw is a straight-graded and possibly one-of-a-kind error... no matter the grade.

I'm not an error collector or a US collector so can you explain the term FS-301 RPD?

Fivaz Stanton: (the last names of the guys that researched/complied the Cherrypickers guide)
#301: (the number they assigned to the variety)
RPD: (Repunched Date... the type of error).

Agree with DWhiz. Looks much nicer than AU55.
It is not MS it has to be AU58. But I think it looks MS 64. It seems these types of error coins always have scratches, which may not have come from circulation.
If that is an old holder that could explain the grade.
    Crack out and re submit?
