Greetings, folks. No, I have not left here. The past year has been kind of difficult—my wife was diagnosed with Afib 14 months ago. She has had excellent health care, so under those circumstances, Afib is not life-threatening, but exhausting (both for the patient, and the family). She just had a catheter ablation procedure at the Mayo Clinic, and it was successful—hopefully, she will stay in sinus rhythm. For these reasons, I have not posted much, if at all. No, I didn’t give up on the forum, nor did I stop collecting. I still love my “big silver” coins, and am happy to discuss coins, debate the merits of market grading, and debate whether or not Daniel Carr is an artist, or counterfeiting enterprise (lol). So, hopefully, more time to post, and share knowledge, opinions, and lively debates with my fellow hobbyists.
Welcome back @Morgandude11 . Sometimes life gets in the way and I'm sorry for your wife's troubles. Glad she's on the right track now.
Welcome back, I like my big silver too so me and you will definitely have some chats in the future. I hope the best for you, your wife and your family.
Are you home schooled or are schools closed where you live because of the bad whether? Either way shouldnt you be studying? Lol. JK .
Glad to see you're back, and glad to hear the prognosis is good for your wife! But it looks like your attempt at a first-post Carr threadjacking isn't quite panning out... yet.
Welcome back @Morgandude11 ! I'm glad to hear that your wife is doing better. For me, I was MIA from these forums for about 8 months until last December, but there wasn't much difference when I returned. We still have newcomers from BoobTube asking if their "road rash" penny is a valuable error. Take care, my friend! Chris
You folks rock. Despite all the grading, and “Is PCGS better than NGC” debates over the years, I love ya all. Yes, my wife is doing great. So good to see her walk through the parking lot of a shopping center, and not be out of breath. The doctor who did the procedure on her at Mayo, Jacksonville is absolutely the best of the best!
Welcome back! You were one of the absent members I had wondered about. The absolute best goes out to you and your wife!
Welcome back @Morgandude11. Sorry to hear about your wife's illness, but I'm glad she is getting great care. I didn't visit this site last year very much due to work. I also had Peter change my nickname. When I started visiting the site again, I did notice your absence. Glad your back and glad you still enjoy "big silver coins". I too am partial to these coins.
Glad to see you back and glad your wife is on the mend and doing well. I know about being absent due to family. I had a year full of it. Between my wife’s difficult pregnancy and blood pressure issues having a newborn and her mom’s health issues and untimely passing 2018 was a rough year. I can’t tell you the last time I bought a coin. I hope you and your family have a better and wonderful 2019 and years to come
I hope your wife is feeling better—hypertension and pregnancy must have been a difficult combo. Also, sorry about your mom—been there/done that. Makes one not even want to think about coins, no less purchasing them. Thanks for your empathy, and support. Things are definitely good for my wife. She has tons of energy, now!
That’s wonderful about your wife. I’m so glad that helped her. I know how hard it is when the person you care about isn’t well Thanks for your text I think about coins but have been out of town and out of work so much finances are tough. I literally spent most of the year off work. Thank god im self employed but got a happy baby to keep me busy
