As a Naval Warfare buff it was a must have, but at $14, it has probably lost 75% of its value since I got it...NOTE, the serial # of 00000003A
I just looked on the Bay and I guess if I understand it right this is bill # 3??? They are on series B with 10's of thousands of each. Cool. Oh and they are $7 to $15.
It is worth almost $4.00 converted to the US Dollar.. enough to get you a slice and a can of soda in Argentina But I like and great Serial #
That is a nice looking note. Unfortunately any notes that are still currency in another country I wouldn't pay more than current exchange for. Looks like it could be polymer as well, there are many countries currently issuing their currency in polymer material (Canada, Mexico, etc.). They seem to be able to survive circulation easier (in terms of wear/condition). They have their ups and downs.
The General Belgrano was the former USS Phoenix, a survivor of Pearl Harbor, which was sold to Argentina in 1951.
Oh yeah and the HMS Conqueror sunk her after much deliberation from the British Ministry of Defense. I have played out that battle more than once.... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ARA_General_Belgrano
Just dug the Peso note out, seems I saved a stock picture...mine is like 165748 or something...oh well the other one is not a stock picture.
Wow turns out this note is worth a lot more than I thought, lot more than a MS70 graded coin.......I am learning more and more about it....
