Thanks spirityoda! Nice thing was, they all went cheaper then estimates/ even better yet, now I can bid online in real time auction....since i am "unemployed" now that work is done I could have gotten the Luis I 5000 Reis also/ but i have my "eyes" set on a trio of nice coins coming up in Triton XX/ Kunker 285 Sadly/ as is always the case/never enough $!
Very nice set. I think you also likely did great on the price since these are raw coins in PQ mint states. The slab premium could have been prohibitive
Thanks Numismat! You are right on about difference had coins been slabbed. The 2000 Reis in past Heritage Auction (slabbed at MS-65) realized 950US. The coins Numisma grades as "soberba" mintstate would equal MS-65. I also won a Hungary AV Dukat 1677 K-B Leopold I from Pannonia Terra Auction graded FDC for 2200 Euros/ same coin /diff. year sold at Heritage in MS-66 for 3600US.....but the MS-66 looked way inferior to mine which probably would slab MS-68. I won all THREE Portugal coins for 1800 euros John
