Just out of curiosity: Do you search the Dates

    1998, 1999, 2000 for the Wide AM on the reverse? Also Do you search the 1992 P and D for the Close AM.

    Just thought I would ask. This is for the Lincoln Cent.

    Yes I do. Now I am searching for the 92 Closed AM, didn't know about it till a few days ago.

    Another question. Do you look thru circulated (pocket change) or OBW rolls? It is fun to look for them.

    Actually, I do it the other way about. Pocket change and rolls, I look at the reverse first, then try to guess what year it is by design elements such as close/wide and strike characteristics (ie, so weak you can barely make out where Lincoln is vs. detailed strike.) I'm usually within 2 years of correct.

    I like this method because it forces me to pay attention to the yearly differences. I should start writing down the differences instead of just generalizing them. (Ie, weak strike, wide, lots of bubbles in the plating . . . um, 1982?) Maybe if I took the time to write it down I would get better at it and be able to determine mm. But I doubt it. It's just something I do for fun.

    whenever i get those dates in change, i always look at it with a microscope. you just never know.
