Hello CT!:hail: I just paid for a year's membership to the ANA and can't hardly wait for my own subscription to the Numismatist!! Since I'm 22 or younger I got a discount, woot woot. The perk's of this membership are pretty boss if you ask me. I hope I can make one of the big annual shows in Cali or Phil, someday, someday. I was inspired to purchase the membership and donate a few smackers aswell from a fellow, lifetime, member of the association who has also reaccelerated my drive to collect coins. He gave me copies of his coin magazines and showed me many coins he had on his person when he came into my place of work. Who else is a member!? :thumb:
I can't wait to have a whole library full of money books and issues of magazines. Any lifetime members? How much is it like 1200?
I opt for the eco-friendly electronic edition of The Numismatist. No paper clutter here. You can opt for this in your member account settings. You get very prompt delivery -- ahead of most printed magazine delivery.
I saw that, but I would like them in my hands to take with me places..now that I think of the eco-friendlyness, I may opt to change to that in the future, thanks for the thought!
If you happen to have a smart phone many are capable of reading PDF files. I download every edition as a PDF for viewing on my computer. The Numismatist just released the new Enhanced version with pages that load more quickly, have a sliding scale that allows you to zoom in and if you log out and return to read more at another time, the program offers you the option to go to the last page viewed. There is additionally a revised “Share” feature that allows direct links via e-mail, Facebook, Twitter and other social networking sites. Readers can modify settings that affect page presentation too. The enhanced viewer is available for all issues of The Numismatist, January 2009-present. A very nice development and I'm glad they backed up the recent two years to get started. It will be great if they extend the database to past decades of material available online.
Currently I do not have a smartphone, but I will keep that in mind! Thank you very much. Glad to see more members =]] maybe I will see some of you at an ANA event sometime!
Here's my plan: Back in the 60s I developed a weather changing machine, which in essence, was a sophisticated heat beam which we called a "laser." Using these "lasers," we punch a whole in the protective layer around the world which we call the "ozone layer." Slowly but surely, ultraviolet rays would pour in, increasing the risk of skin cancer...and rendering coin slabs a useless melted plastic mess. That is, unless...the world pays us a hefty ransom. g.
I'm also a member. I recommend using the ANA's loaning library. I also recommend the ANA's correspondence courses and also the summer seminar.
