GOt em in the mail thanks to LTB (Thanks Louie!) and i must say the design does look pretty great. i was a little skeptical from the line drawings i've seen and the pictures ive seen but now i'm a believer. However the spots on the coins worry me, looks like the mint hasn't fixed the problems from previous years... But oh well. Can't wait for the proof issues! -Russ
Hey, it's my pleasure PFCBEGA..."Thank you" for serving in the U.S. Military; fighting the good fight and allowing all Americans the opportunity to live the American Dream! I agree, the spotting is still a problem and those scuff marks irk me too. However, the scuffs will probably go away with the unc cents. I think this design will look best when they have been circulated for about 10 years and they have a nice toned surface on them. That's IF the Mint continues to use cents in our monetary system. If they quit making cents, most of these probably won't have the chance to circulate as people will hoard them in pristine condition. -LTB
The Mint isn't going to spend a ton of time on quality control on these things. They're already losing money just by minting them. Why lose more money improving the process.
