Just got my Daniel Carr PL finish fantasy issue, and it is definitely PL. I would post high grade one side by side, but that one is sitting at ANACS, for its return trip to me. That one graded the usual MS 69. This one, I believe will get the PL or DCAM designation from ANACS, as it sure looks it to me. (top one is the PL, and bottom is the high grade, but pictures not taken at the same day or time).
@Morgandude11 The reverse on your PL looks very similar to the one I received with the rotation of the ghosting.
Already a thing Have you not seen my (ongoing) Dan Carr's "DAMs" (Dan's VAMs) thread. Feel free to post any you have there... https://www.cointalk.com/threads/1964-d-jean-claude-dan-vam.286458/
None. Its Christmas. And I'd hope they all got it out of their systems with that 50page repetitive monster thread
I started with the '64 Peace that I got already graded by ANACS, and then last year I got a couple of his Barbers graded. I have 3 waiting now - need 2 more to make the minimum. I have the two Morgans (got my PL today) and I have a Walking Liberty half. Not sure if I'm gonna wait a bit or find 2 other coins from my collection to send in with them.
Do most collectors get them graded? In the secondary market, does a slab increase their desirability?
Slabbed can get double raw sometimes. Depends on what it is and what's available. If you have the only slabbed listed, again depending on what it is, I've seen some crazy prices paid relative to raw
I send all of mine there. If PCGS or NGC started I may reconsider but would still have them graded. There is definitely a premium for the slabbed ones compared to raw. I'm not sure most do it, but there is definitely a good number. The signed label you get with them is a nice added touch.
There is a big difference between this thread and the 50 page thread. The latter asked about why genuine coins were used as planchets rather than fabricated/new planchets. The answer necessarily entailed a discussion of law. This thread is merely a "look at my new purchase" post. The law isn't as relevant to this type of thread. I also don't see any misleading statements, so there is no reason to interject with legal posts.
