just got a 1896 5 pesson from cuba!!!!!!

    just got a 5 peso cuban bill from 1896 that says PLATA on the back and the coresponding 10 peso bill with PLATA stamped on the back also, picked them up for a total of 22 bucks did i do good:cool:

    My edition of SCWPM shows those as P-48b and P-49d (I know nothing of Cuba notes, so I could be missing something about these), with value in VF as $3.50 and $5.00 respectively. Hard to tell the condition yours are in, so that was a guess. The UNC values are $12.50 and $15.

    It's great to see these, though I'd get a catalog if you're going to spend any serious money on such notes.

    You did about right. These are not scarce. They are also known to come in sheets and with the counterfoil on the left.

    i also got a 1959 100 pesos cuban for 10 bucks[​IMG]
    mine is in uncirculated condition

    THIS IS THE ISSUE WITH CUBAN AND SPANISH BANK NOTES ,THEY ARE MANY PEOPLE DUPLICATING THESE BANK NOTES KNOWING THEY ARE ONLY A CERTAIN AMOUNT PRODUCED AND A CERTAIN AMOUNT THAT STILL EXIST POOR GOOD EXCELLENT CONDITION NOW NOWING THESE BANK NOTES OBTAIN GREAT VALUE THOSE THAT COLLECT BANK NOTES THAT DO NOT HAVE THESE BANK NOTES COPY & PASTE THERE IMAGES AND PLACE THEME ONLINE THINKING THEY ARE GOING TO FORCE THOSE THAT DO OBTAIN CUBAN AND SPANISH BANK NOTES INTO SELLING THEME FOR A LESS PRICE AND THINKING THEY ARE GOING TO FORCE DOWN THE VALUE OF THESE RARE DESIGNED INK PRINTED BANK NOTES WITH RARE SIGNITURES OF POLITICAL LEADERS NOW STILL KNOWING THESE SIGNITURES ARE PRINTED THEY STILL HOLD VALUE ITSI ALL ON THE AMOUNT PRODUCED AND THE RARITY OF THE PLATES USED AND OF COURSE EACH BILL OBTAIN A HISTORICAL STORY WHY IT WAS DESIGNED IN THAT MATTER IF YOU LOOK AT IT COMPARE AMRICAN BANK NOTES AND WHEN THEY STARTED PRINTING AMERICAN BANK NOTES REMEMBER 1776 WE DECLARED INDEPENDENCE SPANISH BANK NOTES WERE PRODUCE MANY YEARS BEFORE RARE HISTORICAL ANTIQUES KNOWING COLLECTORS KNOW THEY HOLD VALUE THE FORCE ITS VALUE DOWN UNTIL THEY GEY A HOLD OF THE BANK NOTES WHICH THEN THEY ARE WORTH THOUSANDS
