    Nice. I'd consider that a key date Jeff. Only 5,376,000 minted. I've only pulled 2 out of circulation and I've searched probably north of $50k worth of nickels.

    Not a key date the 39 D and 50 D are the 2 lowest mintages and the keys to that series. Unless your talking get proofs in proofs the 71 s no such 1647 minted or the matter finish 97 at 25,000.

    Eh, semi-key.
    I may or may not be 3 sheets to the wind.

    Edit: Those dang 39D and 50D are still eluding me....

    You'll have better odds finding the 39 D before the 50 D

    I feel like my odds are about as good as winning Powerball...I did buy a ticket tonight. Maybe I'll get lucky ;) I sure haven't gotten lucky with the 39D or 50D.

    Looks like a Philly to me. Where are you seeing the "D"?

    The "D" for Denver mint should be to the right of Montecello. I'm not seeing it.

    i have found a few 38's and one 1950 D
