I'm messing around with my cam trying to figure it all out....please have patience. What I have here is what I think is a die clash running from the "of" diagonally across the corner of the building to the designers initials. I think I see the clashed image of the top of the building. Question I have is why would the reverse be clashed on the reverse...........if in fact it is as I described? Hope the pic is readable.
I thought it looked like the bottom of the building..... Or it is just die scratches. Looks more like die scratches to me but I'm no expert. The experts will chime in here shortly.
Lincoln you may very well be correct. After looking closer I do see marks at the other end of the coin going from the "one" to the bottom of the steps. I don't think they are scratches as in die cleaning. The lines are too sharp, defined, and straight.
You are correct Tuffjump. I didn't even notice those lines. Rotated die clash of some sort? Still don't know how the reverse would show on the reverse. Can you post a pic of the obverse please?
Thats really neat and I believe I see the bottom of the memorial building above the designers initials. http://www.errorvariety.com/Clashes/index.html Try contacting Jason to see if he can do some of his magic to figure this out...
http://www.errorvariety.com/Clashes/Counterclash%20T2.html Possibly? Not sure how it would happen over such a large area though.
Obv Here is a pic of the obverse it is "mad" about 5%/8% cw that I hadn't noticed before. I see no unusual marking of any kind but that doesn't mean there not there.
These are die scrapes from a feeder finger according to Mike Diamond. I'm not sure I understand what that is.
I'm not so sure I agree with feeder finger scrapes. Zoom in as large as the pic goes (half the screen) and just above the designers initials there are some squigly lines that look like the bushes at the bottom and to each side of the steps. I believe it is a clash, JMO...
Is there any way you can post a closer pic of that area? The glare is really messing with my eyes. I agree with Abe though. I'm 95% certain this is a clash. The most obvious is the steps/bushes next to the initials. But look up towards the AM in AMERICA and it looks like the top of the stairs.
This is very consistent with what I've seen with feeder finger damage. This one's more extreme than most, but it looks like that to me. I can't zoom in on it for some reason though, so there may be something I'm not seeing.
