I bought an AR Hungarian denarius from a hoard (1500's to 1620's). They look nice, and hopefully mine's one of the nicer ones! I also bought one unattributed cleaned late Roman AE, one high-quality uncleaned Roman coin, and one 100% uncleaned - probably Roman, but you never know - coin. Grand total? $23.00. The only cleaning I'll have to do is with the last two, as the others should be in presentable and attributable shape. All I can say now is that the ancient/medieval bug has def. bitten me. It's nice to buy something that YOU get to clean, research, and attribute before tucking it away in your collection. I love planning out all my purchases in order to complete my type sets, but this is admittedly much more fun and educational.
