Hey! I want to get this clear. If you have $$ so be it! Buy em. For all of the CRHunters out there! Great job for searching! Its tough trying to find them. I have searched so many US coins. Probably not as many as Collecting Nut or many more! Just giving a shout out for those that take the time. What a hobby it is! I seriously think I go thru withdraws if I don't have a box of coins waking up the next day! Haha! What a challenge for a hobby it is!

I agree with the sentiment. I enjoy the hunt, even if I'm not finding anything, but I've always enjoyed the hunt since I was a kid.
I can also fish and not catch and still have a good time!

Nothing wrong with buying what you want and getting what you want. Nothing wrong with spending your free time looking through rolls of coins, piggy banks, jars, or in storm drains, drive thrus, or sidewalks or metal detecting or breaking bills for change at the laundromat in a pinch. hahahaha.

However you do it, the main point is enjoy doing it. If you got that, you're ahead of the game regardless of how the collection works out.

 

I was lucky enough to work where I could check 15 tills worth of change everyday, and check every roll before it went out. 3 proof finds out of those, about 5 silver Washingtons, and over 30 mercs, 30 roosevelts or so. Oh, and a single 1897 barber dime.

It's totally worth it... And I was lucky enough to do it without the commitment of dumping and convincing a bank to give me more!

Yeah, that’s the good thing. But you need the time. And for a few of us the foregone alternatives don’t allow it. But it’s free gambling, otherwise. You got everything to win and nothing to lose.
