I just got an email from Whitman saying that the 18-20 June Baltimore Whitman Show has been cancelled. Hoping for a November return. Fingers crossed things are better by then.

    Lets really hope!

    But, the question is:
If it is open, how many dealers will show?
And will it be safe to go?

Not to mention, how many buyers will show up. As much as my son and I love going to this show, I highly doubt we will attend even in November.

We have lived here coming up on 9 years now. We still haven't experienced a crab boil. We've had some good crab cakes from a few restaurants but I feel like we have missed out.

This too shall pass, and when it does, there’ll be a show in Baltimore like none before. In the meantime, we have this great forum!

I had a moving experience today. I was standing in line at a Dollar Store, dressed in black and wearing my red Lone Ranger mask. When I got to the cash register, I hesitated and couldn’t decide immediately whether to use the few dollars in my wallet or save my cash and use plastic. Anyway, before I knew it, the lady behind me offered to pay for my items. I was taken aback at first because I felt my pride and male ego were being challenged. Then I realized that this lady was acting out of compassion.

It takes times like this to help me make some long overdue adjustments to my humanity.

This forum is great. That is a fact. A few members here sent my son, FFIVN some coins since he was really bummed about not being able to attend the March show. Completely out of the blue. It was amazing to see his face light up when he got those envelopes. We still have a few that we need to work on together.

I have also done more to try and let people know that we are all in this together. I've seen a lot of fear and suspicion in peoples' eyes. I try my best to be kind and show my appreciation to each person I come in contact with.

Yes you have! I've had crabs from Florida, New Orleans, California and Washington State. I even had crabs from Alaska. Nothing and I mean nothing beats a Chesapeake Bay Crab. Please make an effort to find a nice crab shack and order a dozen steamed crabs for the family.

That sounds good. I’m getting a Stouffers concoction for dinner.

When we first moved to Florida in 1978, not one grocery store carried Old Bay, and it took us about two years to finally get a Winn Dixie to put it on the shelf. A few years later, The Seafood Center in South Ft. Myers was opened by a Maryland family, and they were the first to serve, not only steamed blue crabs seasoned with Old Bay, but Maryland-style soft shell crab sandwiches as well. Double yum! Now, everybody sells Old Bay down here. ~ Chris
