Is anyone here a member of the John Reich Society? I was reading about him recently and there was no mention of him anywhere I could find after he left the mint. I was wondering if he stayed in this country and possibly made medals or medallions, or returned to Europe. Regardless of where he went are there any works of his after his departure form the mint? Any insight would be appreciated.

"Reich left his post at the Mint in 1817, and spent his remaining 16 years in Albany, New York." http://www.coinlink.com/CoinGuide/us-type-coins/capped-bust-left-large-1808-quarter-eagle/

Apparently he left because of some ongoing conflict with the mint's chief engraver: "1817, zehn Jahre nach seiner Einstellung, kündigte er bei der US States Mint, da er sich gegenüber seinem Chief Engraver Robert Scot nicht durchsetzen konnte und er die fortwährenden Meinungsverschiedenheiten nicht mehr ertragen wollte." http://www.numispedia.de/John_Reich
