John Adams Had Another Bad Day-Edge Lettering Error

Same problem. It barely shows and no way to get a photo of the edge. It's all on the label. Wish they would have given it a grade but at least it's a documented error. I think the label is an error due to no grade. Lol

What does that mean - double edge lettering, inverted mint error?

 

It's minted right side up and the second time is upside down. An M becomes a W. I can't get it on film so that's the best way I can describe it.

 

I'm sorry, but what is the point of having a coin slabbed when you can't see the error?

 

I agree but I bought it because of the error. I didn't have one. I can barely see what they describe but the slab it terrible for edge letter errors. Redesign time.

 

The US Mint has a good design to see edge lettering.

 

I rather it was on the obverse or reverse myself.

 

These are usually huge bulk subissions. No time for grading and they get a cheaper price for the service. That's why they are so cheap. Anyone selling these for more than $20.00 is stealing everyones money.

 

I like my theory of the label being an error. The other ones I posted have a grade but not this one. But I hear you.
