TypeCoin971793 Just a random guy on the internet

I recently bought this from a seller on eBay who seems to deal in genuine coins (and Scott Semans is of the same opinion about the seller), but it does not feel right. The hole looks machine-drilled, and it looks too nice for the type. Thought on the patina? There seems to be a rainbow mineral deposit in the recesses of the character.

    Comments are greatly appreciated.

Has @Ken Dorney handled this type before?

I don't know anything about this piece, but your box of chocolates rant made me laugh. Sorry for the off topic comment. Hopefully someone can tell you about what you're asking.

I don't see anything that seems off about the piece, the hole looks a bit irregular actually. And ancients could drill neat little holes without powered drills - they were actually fairly clever.

And I got a kick out of the chocolate quote too.

I don't see anything out of line. When you said you thought it look machine drilled, I was expecting straight shafts. Indents like this on both sides is how all of my pieces look like.
