    That's real Chuck, but it's not from the mint. Some marketers/salesmen/dealers somewhere do that and then sell the pennies at a mark up, usually about a dollar each, or they use them as a giveaway when you buy something else.

    Again, that's one for the box and Show and Tell.

    just google "novelty cent counter stamp" and you'll find hundreds of various examples. which I'm sure there's a billion more different types that aren't there.

    It is really considered an "artsy" thing. You can get metal counterstamps for about anything.

    you can find a billion various examples on Amazon. Just search for "stamp punch metal" and modify your search

    Of course, you can stamp this on a cent, nickel, dime, quarter, half dollar, you car, ring, desk, cell phone case or anything else that will take a stamp.
