I order boxes of 50 cent coins about once per month. I search them first but I also put them into circulation. I sell the dates I grow at farmers market and give them as change. Most folks love them.
So this last box I ordered was ALL 2021-D which is a NIFC coin. They do not look like a box that comes from the mint. The box is stamped "Los Angeles CVS" and dates Dec 6 2021. Which sounds like the Los Angeles branch of the Federal Reserve. All are rolled in the kind of paper I expect to see when coin comes from the FR.
Did the mint dump a lot of NIFC 2021 to the fed reserve to be rolled and put into circulation? Is there any way to research this?

According to the mint web site, they did mint 2021's for circulation.

Truth be told, half dollars have been released as "intended for circulation" by both P&D mints since 2018. Between 2018 and 2019, teller trays were often full of freshly-minted halves and boxes of uncirculated 2018/2019-dated halves were reported on here with frequency. Indeed. It is a myth that new halves have been NIFC since 2002. It's really 2002 - 2017 that new halves were NIFC.

Yup, 2021 is NOT a NIFC year. I discovered that after my first 2 solid 2021P boxes. After ~6 boxes of solid 2021Ps I got tired of looking at em.
