Can't identify the jeton right off but pretty sure that's Louis XIIII. Kind of think if you spend a little time looking through these links - HERE - you'll be able to identify it.
Most likely Louis XIV. But no luck in the resources section. I forgot to check, but was familiar with most of the sources anyway. The article "Jetons: Their Use and History" in particular I had read before and found fascinating. The Canadian Monetary Museum google image search brought up only two images of jetons - perhaps they changed their website layout? And the "Medals & Tokens of the Kings of France" is almost entirely down, except for the central page, which has lost all of its pictures. I forgot to give the legend: obv: LOVIS XIV ROY DE[??]R ET DE [??] rev: PAIX A TOVIES 16 NATION 79 I think the reverse shows a ballroom scene.
BTW: M Mitchiner, Jetons, Medalets and Tokens 1: The Medieval Period and Nuremberg, London, 1988 M Mitchiner, Jetons, Medalets and Tokens 2: The Low Countries and France, London, 1991 Links: http://www.elsen.eu/articles/art243-levinson-01.pdf http://www.finds.org.uk/finds/jetons.php not sure if that even helps..but. stainless
